The butchered bird had it's wings clipped today. Found some rust hiding under the fiberglass flares but nothing out of the ordinary.
I never had problems with pictures using a camera, my phone photos are unpredictability rotated!

I checked out the engine and transmission VIN info today. There'a a 3 belt crank pulley so I'm going to assume it was an air car. The assembly plant code is Norwood so it had to be an F-body. Only the first 4 characters of the block VIN are legible due to pitting on the block. Those numbers do match the turbo 400
VIN stamp. The transmission VIN is somewhat
confusing. What I think should be a 1 looks like a 7 with the top crossbar missing. Has anyone else seen this on a Norwood car? If it is a 1 then the sequence number is 132837. I may order the PHS to see if it was a Formula or TA. Any input from the experts is appreciated!

Thanks to marxjunk for figuring out the 12 bolt rear end. The code is CBT which didn't match up with the Pontiac or Camaro 2nd gen. F-body codes. It appears to be a 3:55 posi Nova rear end that has had the spring perches relocated and sloppily welded back on. The drive shaft is labeled 72 Vega with a yellow paint pen!

It does look like a 7 thats been modified..it looks like it was done by GM to me...the cars keep rolling weather they broke or lost a #1 gang stamps or not..and they have in house machinists..i believe its a GM stamp..just a goofy one

ive never seen it that bad...but it has all the tell tale markers that is a GM stamp..besides..no one is going to fake that..they would fake it as a perfect stamp...not one as sloppy as that..it would raise questions etc..

and the condition of the car, no ones trying to fool anyone with that stamp..youre lucky it even exists in my opinon...how rare is a complete number matching motor carb to trans..you are very lucky in my opinion

id PHS that sequence and see what happens..ask Mattison if someone is looking for the motor..i bet if the car survived..theyd be glad to hear from ya..

I've seen the same stamping situation on other turbo 400s with the 7 and 1

The Nova 12 bolts had 5 Leaf perches. You dont want 5 leaf springs, unless you want a "highjacker" that only does burn outs. IMHO..

I went shoppin' today for TA cloning sheetmetal. A local Pontiac enthusiast contacted me about purchasing some extra parts that he'd accumulated.
The KR wheel has a date code of 12/30/70. What do the experts think would be a fair price for it? The rim doesn't look bent and the lug nut holes look average.
