Hood clearance
Will a Northwind with a Dominator fit under a stock 69 GTO hood with a 4" filter height? Drop base 1"

Don't know , but in terms of fitting and the Carb working right in the end you need 3/4" of added space above the Carbs fuel bowl vents.

Maybe. I have a 1/2" spacer on a Northwind with a 4150, which is marginally shorter than a Dominator, and a 14x4" element with a L88 Chevy repro base and it clears the hood with a little over 1" clearance above the bowl vents to the lid. There is maybe 1/4" from the lid to the hood at the closest point. 68 GTO with solid motor mounts.
If you don't run a spacer it should fit but the Dominator air cleaners are usually 16" diameter and I don't know what they offer as far as drop bases. Make sure you limit engine movement or the air cleaner may make it's own clearance when the engine rocks.
