66 Tri-Power value
I was asked to sell my 66 Tri-Power 9782898 with carbs 7029683 (x2) and 7031575(1). I just have no clue what to ask for if i were to sell them. carbs need rebuilding but overall in nice shape. Only missing linkage to connect them. Any help with ball park pricing would greatly appreciated.

1966 Tri-Power manifolds can vary in price a great deal depending on the seller.
I have bought 66 Intakes for as low as $15.00 in a junk yard years ago to paying $350.00 for a 1st run Aluminum PY Tri-Power Intake Manifold. So the intake should be less than $350 by itself. Then the carbs: Dick B, I hope will post on the prices he has paid but I have bought correct 1966 carbs for $250 each that just need a few items to be totally correct. So right there $750 + $350 get you a $1100 price for a decent set of carbs that are basically in really good shape internally. The the zinc is half rotten out inside in the fuel bowl area then the prices go down a bit. People have still made these carbs work on a "driver" but they are not 1st level or even 2nd level carbs that would do well at a national show. Hope that helps. Tom V.

I've seen setups like you describe for anywhere from $650-$2,000. I just rebuilt a '66 setup with really nice carbs--no corrosion or rusty throttle plates. The owner paid $1,200 for it, which is higher than I've been paying.
Usually, when someone is selling a complete setup, any year, the carbs are not all original like yours. Many times the air cleaner webs are cracked on the end carbs. Fuel lines & linkage are never complete and seldom usable. But, I've been able to buy several nice "correct" setups for $650-$850. The one that's currently on eBay with the orange manifold is already bid higher than it should be. The center carb is about a '72 vintage carb that looks completely different from the "575" bowl castintg carb you have. And, the front carb air cleaner web is cracked.

I'd say close to $1,000 for an original '66 setup needing completely restored with good carbs. There are good deals out there. I don't think I have paid more than $700 for a '66 setup and $500 for a '65 setup all needing work. Throttle blades stuck from rust, broken fittings in air horns, needing fuel lines etc. It all depends on how bad someone wants one I suppose.

OK, how about a 1965 complete with everything but is not point show quality (needs replating) , has K&N filter elements but can be bolted on and driven? Same with my 1966? They both are correct and removed from my car at different times. After removal the carbs were treated to new kits and the whole assembly wrapped in plastic.

I recently got $1500 for a 66 complete, all linkage and fuel lines, correct set, with correct manifold, and they had kits installed. Decent condition, driver quality. I think that was/is a fair price. So it's like anything else, they are worth whatever someone is willing to pay. But generally speaking, I'd say a complete and correct set below a grand is a steal with 2 grand a little high unless they were restored to beautiful condition, then I would say 2 grand is not that bad. Just my opinion. Prices for any part that is "original" are always going to be high, and they aren't ever coming down!!!!

I bought this set for $450 a few years back. All three base plates were stuck. Had a broken off fitting in the front carb. Really a pretty rough but correct set with tags still present. After some Evaporust treatment to the baseplates, ease out of the fitting, thorough cleaning and rebuilding of the carbs, repop fuel lines and kits I had about $650 in them. Really turned out to be a good driver quality setup after all of the work. I've bought 3 correct '66 setups and 4 correct '65 setups all needing restored for $700 or under. I do think that is a little on the cheap side for them, probably the main reason I grabbed them all over the past 10 years. I'd go for $1,200, see what the potential buyer says and go from there.

Do you think it would be better to sell it individually or with the original 389 I have garaged as a package deal? I just sold my 65 bonne yesterday and I'm in the process of moving the remaining parts. Thanks John, Dick and panhead for the pics and the advice........

If your 389 is a tripower coded engine, to me, it would be hard to separate the two.

I don't believe they are a match/set...engine code/dates are YF 694041 #9778789 325HP. My apologies if I have misinterpreted this info. I might just ask 1000 for the tri-power and 500 for the engine. Thanks

I'd list the trips for $1200-1500, but hard to say without any pics.

so having a high listing price may be to your disadvantage as far as potential buyers. Maybe on EBB LLAY. But the carbs/intake are the OPs carbs/intake. And there is a sucker born every minute as WC Fields used to say but I will not be the one screwing him. Tom V.

I would say $700-900 given the linkage and fuel lines are missing. No air cleaners and that everything would need cleaned up and rebuilt.
