1958 Redwood Copper paint code?
It’s finally time to paint my ‘58 Bonneville. I believe the paint code was UVV, the car is at the shop now. The car is Redwood Copper with a white top and white spear. We are having trouble finding a paint code for the Redwood Copper. One shop found a code and mixed some up- turned out to be some sort of rose color which isn’t right. Can anybody help out with a paint code?

'58 Redwood Copper Poly was code U, Ditzler DDL-21516, Dupont 2687L / 882-90397L.
It is a 1-yr, 1-Division color ['58 Pontiac ONLY]. Paintref.com is a great site : https://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorco...r=1958&rows=50 Congrats on owning a '58 B - have always liked. Hardtop or droptop? |

We had that PPG code mixed up and it really looks more coral than copper. I hate to have to pick a ‘close’ color for such a nice car. This one is a Tri Power hard top car.

I have a set of original 1958 Dupont chips, it shows code 2867-L, as stated in an earlier post.
The chip I have DOES have a pink tint to it. James Q

I ordered a few chips off if eBay. I figure we can have them scanned and spray some samples to see how they look.

The body shop said the underside of the trunk looks like it hasn’t been painted so that is an option we are looking at. When I get the samples I will match them up to the trunk. We can always pull the trunk and have it scanned as well.
Unfortunately the car was already restored but in the wrong shade. |
