Default Where does this go?

1974 T/A, automatic with console. Where does this bare gray wire go to? I thought maybe to ground but the color of the wire is grey and not black. Thx. Dave

One end should have a clip that just attaches to the body of the shifter to provide ground for the bulb. The other should go up into the dash harness and connect to other grey wires for instrument panel (and in this case automatic gear selector) illumination

Default Picture please?

Thx Bhill86, I do not have a hole anywhere in the shifter to accept a ground screw. Anyone have a picture of where the ground should go to? Thx.

For a temporary fix, could attach it to the front screw/bolt that holds the shifter to the tunnel.

Like Brian said, I think it should have a connector on the shifter frame for the wire that is missing a fitting?

This is from the 73 Assembly Manual:

Looks like a spade connector possibly on shifter frame?

Default Thx John.

I will use the shifter mounting bolt then for a ground after I attach a ring connector to that bare wire.

Here are some pics of a spare. One end has a plug. The other is a little clip. Which in this case is the underside of the shifter. I don’t remember where mine was exactly but I don’t think that’s where it was attached.
