Default Rattling Quarter Windows

When my quarter windows are all the way down, they rattle when I drive around. If I roll them up to where they are about 1/4" above the door panel they're quiet.

I've got to the door panel off now and I'm wondering if I'm missing some kind of guide to keep them from rattling. Looking at the diagrams, I don't see anything I'm missing. Is the solution to adjust them so they sit against the window felt on the door panel when they're down?

On my 69 mine sit tight to the exterior weatherstrip andcthey do not rattle. That is from the factory.

First thing I would look at is the window fuzzies/weatherstripping. This can get worn out or dried out and allow the window to move. I guess I would compare it to the shop manual to make sure everything is there.

Could worn window rollers (the white plastic bearing looking things) do this?

I replaced the fuzzies and the rollers when I had the car painted about 7 years ago. Rattling wasn’t an issue before, so I think I just have something adjusted wrong. They line up flush with the door windows, but maybe everything needs to be tweaked a little. Could be a combo of setting the stops higher and pushing them outward a bit.

Yeah if there centered in the opening there adjusted incorrectly. I have my panels off right now doing bodywork so I looked for you. Mine are tight to the outside quarter strip and that keeps it from rattling. As soon as I start rolling them up it pulls away slightly from that strip until there almost completely up then there tight to the strip again. My rollers are factory and are in excellent shape, I dont think they were ever used

Here's where I'm at. They hit against the regulator assembly when they're all the way down. I think I might move the stops up a bit and futz with the adjustment. I'm installing new Legendary door panels which fit tighter than my old ones, so that might help too.

That top corner with the chrome on the edge should sit tight to the outside window fuzzies. That should fix it

I couldn't get them all the way tight against the outside fuzzies, but I was able to move the regulator bracket inward a smidge and move the window out so that the glass doesn't hit. With the door panel in place, it should do the trick. Thanks for the input
