Default RAM AIR V GTO convertible

I just finished another ram air V and I still have not got to drive one yet. This one the guy just put a new disc brake kit on, and all of the lines were leaking so I did not get to drive it. He says he will get them fixed and bring it back in a couple weeks so I can. Anyway thought everybody might enjoy seeing some pic's.

Default bottom end

Awesome!

Is the bottom end a RAM AIR V as well? Looks like maybe its a 455 block?

I just bought a XF 428 block - considering a V top end for it, if I can find one.

I can't believe Chuck hasn't let you drive his. I'll bet if you say something to him, he'd let you. Actually, he should let you take it down the track once.

Ya Dave I agree, but I'm not going to hold my breath. In all honesty though Chuck has offered to let me drive it. I just never have the time when he does.
I custom built the headers and I used 2 inch primary tubes with 3 1/2" flowmaster tri-y collectors. If I ever build another set with 2" tubes I think I will build them as stepper style headers starting with 1 3/4" tubes. The 2" inch tubes are a little tight and I ended up doing the driver side over twice.
I think that maybe the V heads have been getting a bad rap when it comes to having to much port volume. I used a Holley 800 cfm double pumper and once I got the idle circuit right the throttle response is fenominal. I can't wait to drive this thing so I can get a good idea what these heads are capable of.

I almost forgot, the short block is based on a 455 block. The stroke is 4.21 and the bore is 4.190.

Tom Hobi Triple Black Convertible Non Judge is a All Aluminum V With factory Air Conditioning. Think of it as Experimental 001 designation. I am talking to a local fabricator showed him some pictures of V cast exhaust manifolds he says he can make a set of headers short that will depending on who you are resemble NOT DUPLICATE PONTIAC V EXHAUST MANIFOLDS. The physical dimensions and the way Pontiac bent them will be real close than I will put a extra bead of weld around the ports so they seal for sure, sandblast them and porcelain them a cast color I think (KNOW) they will look better than the headers that are out there. Think of Hobi Triple Black Lacquer Non Judge V Convertible Factory Air W27 Oldsmobile Aluminum Rear Hurst Wheels Shift Lite Hood Tach every option known to Pontiac in 1969 oh and don't forget the Black Leather Interior and Canvas Black Convertible Top, as THE ZL1 PONCHO IS IT REAL HELL NO ITS UNREAL. No animals were hurt in the making of this beast, it IS NOT FOR THE PURISTS OR THE GO GREEN ENVIROMENT PUDS EITHER. HOBI does not endorse any parts or reproduction companies. END OF DISCLAIMER THIS IS A 20 YEAR HOBI production just coming to fruition always wanted to use that word, (and yes I already know I am pretty proud of this car) and don't mind tooting my own horn about this one, Frank Rizzo was at my place last nite and love it and IF FRANK RIZZO LIKES IT THATS GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME. Hey Tom don't forget to like me on facespace and I am going to start twittering all the progress to all of my 2 followers have a good one/.

That car is going to be so far over the top - you won't even be able to look down and see where the top used to be .
