Default late model mustang rims do they fit?

i really like these newer mustang wheels, they call them bullitt wheels they look just like a torque thrust 2s with out the the torque thrust price tag. i know the lug patterns are the same but has anybody here used a late model mustang wheel on their tempest?

I have tried both the 16 & 17 inch Mustang wheels. There are a couple issues. They do fit the hub. The wheels ard tires are too wide to fit under the car. The stock wheel is about a 5" wide rim with a 4" back space. The Mustang wheels ar about 8-9" wide with a 5-6" back space. They will bolt up fine on the front but there is no turning room clearance with the sway bar & will hit the fender going over bumps. I was able to get them under the back end but there was no clearance with the lower A arm & the fenderwell. You would have to do major modifications to body & suspension to get them under the car. This was test fit on a 61-62 model Tempest. I am sure the front of a 63 is the same as a 61-62. I dont know about the rear suspension on the 63 but the fenderwell clearance is about the same.

keith the 17 inch wheels have a stock tire size of P235/55ZR 17
what if i went with a lower profile skinnier tire. do you think there is any chance of it working? i really like the looks of theses wheels and they seem to be plenty out there for cheap

One of the main issues is the tire width. A narrower tire on the front may be ok. The stock tires hit the sway bar when turning & there is a brace under the center of the front fender that the tire hit while bouncing the fender up & down. The rear of 63's I dont know. You will just have to try one & see if it fits. The 63's have a different suspension from the 61-62's. Fenderwell clearance may be an issue also the amount of room between the tire & the rear swing arm at the front.

5 inches wide really narrows down the choice of wheels

I have 15 by 6 inch Cragar's on my 62 Tempest. 4 inch offset. More choices with a 6 inch rim.
