Brake/Fuel line routing
I'm a bit unclear on the brake and fuel line routing on my 68 hardtop. I have the brake line installed, and within reason it's aligning with the various clip holes etc.
Fuel lines are next ...but I'm a bit confused as to the clip/fastener situation. I see the "push in" two line clips which are often sold as brake line clips. Since they hold two lines .... does a fuel line go in the other side? Where does the return line go? I'm just unsure of the arrangement of the lines front to back. Anyone have a picture of how they are arranged as they pass the frame reinforcement behind the tranny crossmember? You know ...the place where the brake lines are bent to go around it, rather than behind it. Thanks, JohnnyB |

Here is another way of asking the question.
If I was under the car, looking at the driver side frame rail from the inside ... what order are the lines stacked top to bottom as they run down the frame to the back. |

3/8" gas line at the top, 1/4" gas line in the middle (with a few S hooks keeping them together in the gaps between the frame straps) and then the brake line at the bottom.
Here's a picture showing how the lines bend around that reinforcement Last edited by gto4evr; 01-14-2016 at 10:29 PM. Reason: added picture |

sorry for bringing this back but :
I have a convertible- currently:5/16'' fuel line on passenger side brake line on drivers side no return line. i now have mild built 455 and need 3/8'' line - i bought a prebent steel line 3/8'' and was wondering how to make it look like it belongs. it is prebent for the drivers side so pass side will not have a line i am looking in the ames book i see the steel double line clip that is for brake and fuel? are the s-clips necessary for function? also you have to install them rear of car to front right?
