It might be that the bushings themselves are different from Chevy. More likely, Pontiac uses a different number of bushings, potentially in different locations.

I'd check NAPA for the part numbers of OEM-style rubber bushings, to see if they cross to the Chevy platform. If they do, you could order the Polyurethane Chevy bushings--and just be careful about which bushings go where on the Pontiac.

For the record, I used the "convertible" kit on my El Camino. I was able to install extra "bolted-in" bushings in place of unsecured ones due to having extras in the kit.

Not the same car, mine being a Firebird, but I got my urethane bushings from JC Whitney. They are forever having 20% off sales and free shipping. I ended up getting them significantly cheaper than competitors. If you find out which bushings fit for sure it might be worth looking into.

I just dropped my 68 hardtop down on the energy suspension a body kit . Worked just fine . I had to order their supplemental kit that came with a few extra bushings that chevelles apparently didn't have . This may be what you need for a convertible . The core support bushings however will not work . The diameter is too big and you'll have to use rubber .

@locomotive - do you by chance have the part numbers from both kits?

Energy suspension #3.4170 for 68-72 chevelle , extra mount kit #3.4171 . This is for the black bushings , they also have red . I'm not sure if they have a dedicated convertible kit ? It's a nice kit and comes with sleeves . I was disappointed about the core support though . I know guys that have used these on a 72 chevelle & 68 Camaro and the results were great . Better stability and all that harsh ride more noise and rattles etc is b.s.
