Question Antique car insurance

I have Grundy Worldwide agreed value insurance but they don't return any of my calls or e-mails.

Could you guys recommend a good insurance company to me.

Thank You

Default Try JC Taylor @ 800-345-8290

I've been with them for about five years.

No experience with claims, though (thankfully). 8^D

I think they do declared value up to either #35k or $40k.
They do require that the vehicle be kept in a garage.

I'm with American Collectors. Never needed them for claim service, and hopefully never will. But have contacted them a few times to change the agreed value on my policy. The only thing they required were a few extra pics. You can get a quick quote right from their website. Same type of stipulations as most other collector car insurers regarding garage, no daily driving, etc...

Jeff,
I had Grundy but my agent switched me to Hagerty. I saved over $100 and my kids could drive the cars where Grundy wouldn't let them. Hagarty"s # is 800-922-4050. They are very easy to deal with.
When they sent me their last bill, they recomended that I up the value on 3 of my cars.

So, is there a company out there that will give me a declared value policy AND let me drive my car every day?

Havent found one yet.....hey all want it to be limited use and the best I have found only allowed 5000 miles/year.

I use Hagerty. Have had no claims but super easy to work with. I pay $272 for a 69 GTO Conv 4 speed car. Agreed value on the policy is 26K. I do not believe there is any stipulations on when I may drive the car.

You can submit your photos online. They will wrote you a binder and fax it to you immediately. You must keep the car in a garage. I seem to recall they also wanted a picture of my daily driver. Not sure why.

From the Hagerty site:

"Flexible Usage. Drivers can enjoy their classics with comfortable limits. Our policy allows for an occasional leisure drive, not just to parades or car events."

They dont limit when you can drive, just how much you can drive. They have mileage limits. Since my car IS my daily driver, I easily go over them.

They do not want your classic to be your daily driver so they will only give you insurance if you can prove that you have another car to drive daily.

I got Hagerty on my 68 GTO, and did it over the internet in no time. Had to send proof of Insurance on my other cars, and they will give coverages that match your other policies, but not beyond. I couldn't get underinsured coverage with Hagerty, as I dropped it some time ago on my others and forgot about it. Had to sign a waiver and send back. I think the premium is $214/yr on 25K coverage and they allow 1500 miles a year, and going to car shows, functions, etc.

I keep seeing that Hagerty has a mileage limit. I do not find it on my policy. More importantly, they have never seen my car or asked for an odometer reading. The only thing they told me was I can't use it as a daily driver.

No biggie for me anyway as I only drive it about a thou a year.

I thought most insurance companies(I had State Farm) will give you a declared value policy. If you're looking for an agreed value policy though then they don't want you to use it as a daily driver since it will definitely increase the risk on their end.

Hagerty has never asked me for an odometer reading. Grundy had me fill out a form every year and asked for the odometer reading.

Ditto on Parish Heacock. They do not care about highly modified vehicles either. They just added 24 hr. roadside assistance free (up to $100) for members.

Are you guys sure these $250 rates you speak of are not 6 month policies. That seems way cheap.

I pay that amount for liability only every 6 months....

Maybe I'm getting ripped off.

No, my case it is a 1 year policy premium. Most of the 'specialty' insurance companies I checked out are indeed 'way cheap' compared to regular type DD insurance companies.

I just switched to American Collectors. For an extra $50 per car I have no mileage limit.
