Thanks for that info !

Was it in legal NHRA Stock configuration ?

I'd like to have links to where I can see proof of that, or at least posts from eye witnesses to one of his 9 sec passes. Can anybody provide either ?

Thanks !

Since the B/SA index is 11.25, even a 10-flat pass would get the car an NHRA hp factor increase.

http://www.classracerinfo.com/NHRA_Classes.aspx

So, if it will go that quick, it would be best to not make a pass that quick at an NHRA event at which hp factors can be increased. The only reasons I can think of for a Stock racer wanting to go quick enuff to get an increase is if they want to get a class win at a big event, or they want to set a new national record for their class.

Don't know if it'll dip into the 9's or not. I do know that it has turned some 10-teens. For a few years it was the quickest Pontiac powered Stocker ever. May still be. Only one I know of running B/SA.

That’s right. He mentioned Scott’s name. That’s a really cool car. After the Gators they are loading up and heading back to Sweden

Adam Strang ran a 10.472, to finish in the #9 qualifying position, and also won his D/S class. Scott Burton's old Bird finished at #14, with a 10.236. It turned a 10.135 in the B/SA class final, but lost to a 10.09.

Scott's GT car finished @ #25, with a 9.509.

I assume there are at least 3 Pontiac powered Super Street cars there. ?

https://www.nhra.com/results/2019/lu...uper-street/t2

And 1 S/G car.

Yeah, I suppose she'll be racing next week at the Gators. At least she's on the pre-entry list.

https://www.nhraeventreg.com/ListEve...=GF1&cc=8&rn=3

Michael Brand's wife is also on the list to drive his '73 Bird. There's several Pontiacs on the list.

In Stock E-1, Thomas Strand won a B/SA heads-up race, and Adam Strang cut a .001 light, to take his race. That's a great light, especially with a stick car !

https://www.nhra.com/results/2019/lu...ock-eliminator

Other Pontiac Stockers lost.

Jimmy Daniel won hi 1st round of Super Street.

Adam Strang won his 2nd round of stock, with a 10.653 on a 10.65 dial. Thomas Strand tripped the red light.

Looks like Scott Burton got a bye in SS E-2.

https://www.nhra.com/results/2019/lu...ts/super-stock

Jimmy Daniel won his 2nd round of S/ST. So, looks like we still have 3 Pontiacs in the race.

Racing kicks off tomorrow, with a full schedule.

https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...UMMIT#indextop

Don't know if they'll all show up. But, there are 5 Pontiac powered Stockers on the pre-entry list, & 2 Super Stockers. There are also 4 cars on the Super Street list & one in S/G.

Stock Eliminator Qualifying, Session #1 Order @ #5

So how much HP does it take for the D/SA'67 Firebird of Randi Lyn Shipp, to run 10.615

There were 5 of us in SST, I think that is a record. Myself, Kevin & Ken Macnicol, Scott Fifield & Jimmy.

Matt Tankersley in SG

Joe Tankersley in SC

All three 1st gen Bird Stockers are in the top 8, on the Q-1 list, with Chris Stephenson @ #3. Lindsey Brand is #33, and Thomas Strand is #39.

https://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCS...UMMIT#indextop

In SS, Scott Burton got a DQ. Don't know the cause.
