Huh! It is kind of cool. I wonder why you don't see more of them, it seems to be a simple conversion. That is IF its a conversion. You Canadians do have some different pickups there that we don't see. Like a Mercury pickup.

That is a very cool truck!
Lots of nice work on there I'd say.
Was it Pontiac powered also?

Funny you say that Chief. I saw a Mercury PU at a show a month ago, and had never seen or heard of one. It was cool. Kinda Ford-ish

I saw it at the end of the show, and could not see the owner.

It looked to be on a modern chassis, and I don't know what motor was in it.

as for Canadian cars, don't forget the Pontiac Acadian and Beaumont. ...eh

Interesting indeed but I appears the bed and cab don’t fit very well, looks as if the cabins at an angle away from the bed? You guys see this?

I did. It looks like its bent in the middle. Boy, you PY people are picky. Next thing you know, you'll be poo poo'ing it because its not numbers matching.

No no, I think it’s very cool just a noticeable tilt where the cab and bed split. Could just be an optical illusion or could be something else. Being involved in a car hobby and car shows, and Judges looking at figment, I guess I’ve become more aware of it when I look at cars and trucks. . There should be a Pontiac truck! I’d love it!

Pontiac built it's last truck in 1928.

Here is a 1927 ad:

Sport roadster would be cool to have. Now this is something I never knew existed. And I’ll probably never get to see one in person.

I read that Pontiac considered a G8 truck based on the Holden Ute.

It's a good looking vehicle. I'm not sure if they converted the body of a Pontiac, or if it's a Chevy pickup cab with a Pontiac front clip added.

They produced that for some time in Australia as the Holden Maloo.

Canada also had Fargo pickups, which were basically a Dodge with some minor trim differences.

Looks like a Grand AM / Camino short bed.

It’s really sad when I’m out and about just looking around at the new car body styles. There actually is no style anymore IMO. They all look the same. Short, rounded, no trim or very little, no two toned paint combos, or very little, maybe at the bottom of a truck. And if you’re lucky you have about 5 exterior colors to choose from, and 2 interior colors. Black or gray..

Looks like the frame is bent a bit MaryAnn. Or... it was intended to be that way.

First thing I noticed, and posted it in a post a few to the top in this thread. Posts #6 and #8.

Nice, but agree cab is running uphill from the bed. As you all know, GMC trucks had Pontiac V8's in the '50's-early '60's. I seem to remember seeing a '58 with a 370 and a tripower.

I agree that it appears that way. But I think it looks worse than it is due to the body continuing to widen from the cowl back to where it was cut off- and the photos are taken looking downward.

Looks like pretty nice workmanship.

I've already forgotten what it was to be called? But I remember that it was "this close" to being a Pontiac offering.
