'55-'59 GMC trucks (100-500 series) ordered with V8s had Pontiac-derived engines. They were identical to car engines except for displacements and lower compression ratios of some, and all 2 bbl carbs. '55-'57 were same displacements as cars. '58 had a small bore 370 for 337 c.i. (called a 336 by GMC). '59 was a small-bore 389.
I built a 382 c.i. '58 car engine for my '59 GMC, so the underhood "look" is correct (if you ignore the Tri-Power, long branch manifolds, etc.). I changed the front fender emblems to read "Pontiac V8" (instead of "GMC V8") and am surprised how often I've heard "I didn't know Pontiac made a pickup".

And if you’re lucky you have about 5 exterior colors to choose from, and 2 interior colors. Black or gray..
You need to look around more.

Two tone pickups - just go shopping at Blake Greenfield Chevrolet in Wells, MN (one of my former customers) and you can take home a "Big 10"...

Only black or gray interiors?

How'd I get a Morello Red interior in my Caddy?

This 2019 Chevy Equinox does have some black in the interior, but the other color isn't gray...

Exterior colors available for my 2019 Equinox - only 14 different color options:

Cajun Red Tintcoat
Kinetic Blue Metallic
Storm Blue Metallic
Pacific Blue Metallic
Mosaic Black Metallic
Nightfall Gray Metallic
Summit White
Iridescent Pearl Tricoat
Ivy Metallic
Pepperdust Metallic
Sandy Ridge Metallic
Satin Steel Metallic
Silver Ice Metallic
Orange Burst Metallic

We went with Pacific Blue Metallic - one of the 3 distinctly different blues available:

I wonder why it looks like that? Is it just an optical thing or is there a serious issue there?

This was at our local Pontiac show in 2018. It's a G8 that was modified with Holden parts.

There was also a Holden Ute at the same show.

Cool! I noticed that Holden and Ford utes were common in Australia when I was visiting there.

I agree, it looks bent. What was under the hood? That’s what matters the most.

That red & white truck looks nice, but I will never buy another GM, not after they ditched Pontiac. I’m a Mopar guy now.
