6704 GTO have you looked into mailfraud ?
If you go to court you might win; but collecting it is another matter. Its very hard to sue a self employed person. From what Ive read he lives in a apartment/at home whatever. He has no real estate. His Ebay looked like a junkyard of worthless crap that Fred Sanford wouldnt have on his property. You have to look at the assets; he has none. You have to look at the collectability of the debt. After you sue him he might file bankruptsy - I'd bet $ you're not the only one chasing this deadbeat around. If he does file bankruptsy - kiss your $ good-bye.

But, last I spoke with Josh (~2weeks ago) he said the Title was on it's way from NY DOT. HOw long is a fair wait?

Should I be concerned?...what should I be MOST concerned of : posession of a car without a title, or never getting a title, and having a bunch of Bill-of-Sales that do nothin for getting the car titled in re-registered.

I'd like to sell it back to the presently-titled owner at this rate...if I knew who that is. See, Josh was selling the car for some fella...HIS

Does PA require a title? If not just use the bill of sale.

HIS- let me know if you want to sell the steering wheel from that car.

stud what year is the car you bought in NY? there is no title for a 74 or older just a transferable registration, these are issued right at the DMV no wait involved. If it is 75 or newer it can take 3 or four months to get the title as these are only issued through the albany office.

it is 1979...we want to keeep the steering wheel.
AS IT TURNS OUT, PA wants the NY Title.
The Bill of Sales were not good enough for out-of-state re-title in PA.

Spoke with Josh; he is willing to send me the owner's name&number so I can sell-it-back if I like, if I don't get the Title soon enough.

72 and below only need the reg,73 and up you need the title in NY.If he said NY DOT for the title he's pulling your dick,it's NYDMV not DOT.If he had it in his name all he has to do is go to DMV and get a dup title. And if it's his "friends",alls the guy has to do is fill out 1 peice of paper from DMV to get the title.Dup titles you get in ten days.It cost $10 which i guess Josh doesn't have.

In one of his ads on Classical Pontiac, the picture of his '76 Lemans shows New York plate number, "DNL 360". Can't someone trace that? Maybe he is wanted for outstanding warrants, etc???
