I hate to hear this happen. It must be very fusterating dealing with an issue like this from the other side of the globe.....

However, you do have rights as an ebay member and a Paypal account holder. This was posted recently in another thread by another board member and I believe its the most sound advice you can get....

Quote:
You need to file a claim with Paypal. When you sign onto Paypal, click on RESOLUTION CENTER. Then click on REPORT A PROBLEM. DO NOT dispute the claim through your credit card company unless Payapl refuses the claim. If you report it to your credit card company and they refund your money from Paypal, Payapl will freeze your account. Go through Payapl and you shouldn't have a problem getting your refund. The seller has to prove that your items were delivered and without delivery confirmation from the post office, they can't prove it. I use delivery confirmation for every item I ship.

Here's a link to your thread in the Business forum, too. Looks like this has been dragged out for far too long.

A 96% feedback rating with over 400 sales would have scared me - that means 15 other people have been screwed. If I don't see 100%, I usually move on, although there are exceptions.

Sorry for your bad luck

Read the negative feedback. It's all the same crap...never shipped, no emails, no refunds, "so sorry," etc. Reads like a broken record. Hope you get this straightened out and get your money back. If you get a bumper instead of money back, your troubles may not be over. Sorry, I hate this kind of crap. Where is the ethics?

Pontiac Locator, I'll remember that name if he tries to post on the for sale forum. I'm going to blast him big time. Hopefully B-man will step in and eliminate him from defrauding anymore! I wish somebody closer could get a refund, if you know what I mean. This is total BS JD

I am NOT defending this guy at all in anyway shape or form. Never assume anything by a percentage number. ALWAYS check a sellers feedback. Read it all. There are a lot of pos deabeat bidders out there who will leave retalitory negative feedback. Even tho they never paid for the item. There are alot of good sellers who get screwed because ebay alows deadbeats to post.Sorry. I did`nt mean to crash your post. I hope you are able to settle this with this person.

Thanks @ all for all the kind words.

@ Walter Lansing & Paul Weinstein:

Unfortunately the possibility to fail a complaint with Paypal or ebay to get your money back expires 45 days after the end of the transaction...Loc8tor kept me quiet and happy with frequent emails until this deadlines were long gone :-(

@ mzbk21:

Yes, exactly this one.

@ Bob Hall

If he lives near you do you maybe have his adress? I only have the name and the email adress, a real adress would be nice to know...

I start getting the feeling that i have to write off my money as i do not see any legal way to claim the money or the bumper from so far away and i do not think that Shawn will volunteer to give it back...

Helge71,

I don't have his address. The town he lives in is close to me. He lives in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, whereas the town I'm in is about 20 minutes away. If you can give me his full name, I might be able to get you a physical address. I also believe PonchoV8 has actually been to his house once. You might want to contact him to see if he still has the address.

I really hesitate to say this but I think its worth it...

60 Man stated earlier that he knew Pontiac Locator, Troy (60 Man) is as Stand up of a Man as you'll ever meet. I just hesitate to put him in a position between a friend and someones money. Being that you're in Germany, Troy might be willing to at least ask on your behalf?

I wish you the best with this, and as a Representative of PY, please keep us posted on this matter.

Hi David,

i have exactly the same feeling: I really hesitate to bother other people with a problem that is more or less my own, especially if this means to put them in a potentially difficult situation with their friends...
For more or less the same reasons i avoided posting pontiac locators full name here so far. The only thing that really annoys me is that it is this kind of decent behaviour from the vast majority of PY forum users that allows people like pontiac locator to get away with cheating them.

the strange thing i see in his feedback is there never was a lull in the feedback,so i dont think a computer issue was the problem, there was no big space in the dates for the feedback,so if his computer crashed how did he get all the other items shipped out in the same time period

Helge,

If you have his adress and full name you can give a call to his local police station to file a complaint against him.
There's also a division ( i think of the fbi) where you can file a complaint on internet fraude above $300, i don't have the link anymore but when i used to collect star wars figures a couple of people ( also from europe ) used it and made a complaint.
I think it's a kind of postal fraude and from what i know he can get up to 10 years in the states.
