Default turn signals wierd

first off both turn signals actually work...but with the left turn signal, when making a left turn as the steering wheel starts to turn back and straighten out the signal doesn't stop. the right one works fine. what would cause this ?

Turn signals are not weird, the cancelling cam is worn inside steering colum. Try just engaging lever to turn on left signal, as you would during a lane change. You will have to hold it till turn is complete.

Try your local GM dealer first. But Make sure that is what is wrong, as Engineer says it could be a spring on the switch to.

If your talkin about your 79 Formula, u probably have a broken cancel spring as engineer has stated, they are fairly cheap, 3-4 bucks, but replace both at the same time.
