68-69 Z-bar - photos?
Does anybody have a photo (either out of car, or as installed) of their 68-69 z-bar? I am trying to make sure I have the right one. My crank arm (where the clutch pedal pushrod attaches) is 40 degrees forward of the block swivel when it is straight up and down.
I am trying to figure out a problem. I have the clutch pushrod adjusted all the way IN and it is still too long by 1" or so in getting it to the clutch fork pad. The repop shown here, the angle appears to be less: http://www.4speedconversions.com/68-...a_linkage.html Mine:

Don't forget the swivel reduces the angle a little bit when it is all hooked up. It looks as though you don't have all the pieces you need on the one in the pic.

Thanks for the pic. Well it seems I have the right z-bar. Going to try a shorter clutch fork pushrod and if that doesn't work the trans will come out to install a short throw-out bearing.
In the meantime, you can see my rattle can paint didn't hold up too well. I will powdercoat them chrome which looks a lot like clear zinc.

Unless I am trippin, it looks like NOT the right Z-bar. In your photo it looks like a one piece Z-bar not a two piece with the swivel.

Just look at the restoration guide or a Performance Years catalog.
If you look close at the picture I posted you can see the swivel part of the z-bar its just covered in years of grease.

Mine looks just like G.W.'s just from the other angle. Don't pay attention to the yellow cad coating. I don't believe its correct? I had it plated nearly 7 years ago & I don't recall. I think they might have just came painted originally

I think a lot of cars had tranny swaps, etc & ended up with the straight bars. Like you said, not correct though in 68 for sure, & i think 69, possibly ended in 70? Not positive on that.
