Hi all, I have a 1969 bird that I'm in the process of building a 462 stroker motor for, I bought a set of aluminum Edelbrock 60579 heads for the motor witch acording to Edelbrock are patterned after the Ram Air IV heads, I was wondering if anyone could steer me in the right direction as to what headers I should be looking at for those heads. I have a set of Dougs headers on my 400 now that I know will not fit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome aboard!!!
Virtually any round-port header for that year application will work.
There are various tube sizes available depending on the extent of the engine buildup.

Larry, Thanks for the quick response, looking at the exhaust ports on the heads they appear to be D ports. Nice ET, hopefully I'll be somewhere near there when I'm done with this motor.

If they are Edelbrock heads you need Round-Port headers. Edelbrock shapes the exhaust ports like an upsidedown D.

Doug's Headers are the best for the O-Port application. Part # D568

Exactly, they are shaped like an upsidedown D.
I took a look at em, The ceramic coated are very nice, a bit pricey though. I like Dougs Headers anyway so It works out well, fit good, sound good.
Thanks a bunch for helping me work that out.

Best fit seems to be the indian adventures 2" headers that come without a conecterplate so the induvidual tubes are conected seprately to the ecsaust ports and come together when you stick them in the coleckter. i have them for my 68 bird and my 462 with edel heads havend instal them yet . ps i had them termal coated not ceramic coated
