1) Stop the series of one off posts and start a thread on your car. People will then know what you have, what you are doing, and get excited about helping you. There is a wealth of knowledge here, but life is like a bank of friendship. You can’t continue to make withdrawals without making an occasional deposit. 2) Learn how to use the search function on this forum. The information you are looking for has probably been posted 100 times. If you really want it you can find it. If after making a solid effort you have made no progress, people here will gladly respond, but we all want to see that you are making progress and figuring stuff out on your own. Here’s a link I found after 30 seconds of searching.... http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...39#post5483739 |

On the side of the radiator, near the filler, is it embossed with Harrison? Does it have a metal tag on the lower passenger, engine side?

There was no offense intended, and it seems like none was taken. My intention was just to be honest and to the point.
Two things are certain. They are: 1) Nobody on earth can tell you what radiator is correct for your car without knowing critical options that it was built with. 2) We would all like to know more about your car. Remember the Bank of Friendship thing. Good luck with your project. |

For a '72 Formula 400/455, it should be a factory 3 core Harrison radiator. For some reason, Pontiac engineers decided to experiment & not offer a 4 core radiator this model year in applications where normally a 4 core radiator was used, def a one year deal.
On a '72 T/A or Formula 400/455 AUTO usage radiator, the drivers side tank will be embossed IA. The passenger side tank as always will have Harrison embossed up high. Lower embossed towards the middle of the pass tank, a large AE with a smaller letter (month of production code) embossed between the A & the E. Originally attached to the middle of the passenger tank was the original radiator tag, FB is this specific specific radiator code. On the thin FB radiator ID tag, IA will be stamped above AE, then below that is 112. The 112 is the Harrison core designation (fin count, tube width, etc).

is my rad correct for my 72 formula
Those are camaro. The correct radiator is on eBay right now. Date code is about right at Nov 1971 tank code is AE. GM stopped using the IA and IF tank codes sometime in 72. That radiator even has the correct top and bottom rails as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Here is the eBay link. My pictures show the date on the AE tank of A3 (Jan. '73) and the faint Harrison stamp.
