Default having issues with my sail panels purchased from AMES

never had a problem from the parts i buy from Ames , but the sail panel do not fit right .Any one else had this issue

Looking at that they likely go under the rear trim

no i can not get it far back enough to make it fit Just checked the ones OER sells and the look more correct

Ok, and yes pics look like it goes over as shown. Can you roll it into place from side rather than push backwards?

when i install against the roof pillar it will not go any further back . cant stand when these repo parts don't work . i wonder why no one else had this problem i guess i will buy the ones from OER AND REPORT BACK TO INFORM THE OTHER GUYS IF THE FIT BETTER

I’d use nOS myself.

Possibly some extra material/mold flash in the u shaped leading edge that hooks over the pinch weld in the front?

Gastro, I Didn’t sell any nOS on Dayton, just rusty junk. I had a whole table of nOS, it all went back home. Other than the serious collector, people won’t pay for it.

In all likelihood whoever you buy them from they come from the same source.

You may have to drill a new hole in the lower area on the cars side to mount them correctly.

It really depends on where the factory drilled the original hole.

not worried about the hole .its were it meets the upper glass. thesE ones are for a 73-74 OER MAKES THE CORRECT ONES FOR 70-72 CHECK THEM OUT ON THE WEB AND YOU WILL SEE THEY ARE NOT THE SAME
