Default 1973 Firebird fender emblem

My new acquisition has a boo boo. Does anyone have a spare they want to sell?

Available in reproduction.
#485929 as the 72-73 fender emblems with the 2 pins.
#1735919 as the 76-78 sail panel adhesive type.
Or pick up a cheap used one and prise the red and black infill piece out and glue back into yours.

those plastic faces tended to fall off - at least that has been my impression.

So no one responded with a good used one so I had to search the reproductions.

Scratched The Parts Place, Inc. off the list right off the bat. Found a couple on eBay and decided to purchase one from one seller and one from another.

The two on the top were sent by the other seller, even though the auction was for one emblem. It was advertised as one of three things and the description wasn't any better but the pictures had the right look. The top one pictured is gold looking and don't know the usage and is definitely repro, middle one was what I was after and looks NOS. Bottom one was from another seller and is repro and looks OK.

Still on the lookout for a good used emblem.

the “gold” from my observation is the clear plastic yellowing.

my limited experience is that the the repro stuff discolours or looses colour quickly.

That middle one stands out as the nicest of the lot for sure!

I looked at it closer and agree, it's yellowing.

I probably won't be happy with any repro. The Parts Place pictures don't look even close.

The bottom one was purchased from these people and you can order two, if needed. Coloring is a little off and chrome background looks blasted not smooth, but is close except pin lengths on back.

When I bought my '73 the passenger fender bird was missing the plastic inlay. I bought an NOS one and installed it a few years ago. Now the NOS one is falling apart..
