Mopar 8-3/4" and Olds-Pontiac 9.3
Pic is a mopar 8-3/4" posi on Marketplace, says from a 66 Super Bee. But it sure looks like an Olds-Pontiac 9.3" posi differential though. I've noticed that when searching for 1963 Pontiac fullsize differential parts on Rockauto, it references many Mopar parts as well...initially I figured it was just part numbering data errors. So are they the same posi diff for both?

There are pictures of both an 8 3/4 and a 9.3. Internally, I don't believe that there is much that will interchange between the two Dana style carriers. An 8 3/4 carrier for sure won't work with a 9.3 ring gear. The carrier bearings are also different between the two. The splines for the side gears and clutch hubs have a different spline count for sure. An 8 3/4 is a 30 spline. A 9.3 will have a 29 or 31 spline.

So basically Rockauto does have a lot of incorrect Mopar numbers listed for Pontiac? I mean, this one part listed under 1963 Pontiac Catalina, drop-out case, is obviously wrong:

The drop out case and carrier information is for sure wrong. I believe the Yoke info was wrong too.
