Thumbs up Steve Ames buys an original 1917 Model T w/ less than 200 miles

I have profound respect for Steve Ames & his car collection.

Recently he purchased a very rare and highly coveted 1917 Model T Ford
to add to that collection from my friend Kim in California.

The story is here for those who care to read it:

Wonder if it has a Dodge Engine in it. Dodge made Henry's Engines and other parts for a few years which got the Ford motor company rolling..

No, Steve has nothing to do with Ames Performance Engineering that sells us parts today. He sold it to the ones that now have the catalog sales quite a while ago. Today he only designs, makes, and has parts made to sell to Ames, OPG, NPD, Year 1 and others.

I have a 23 Touring and it's scary to drive with all the nut jobs on the road.

Spirited discussion on that accident on the MTFCA Forum right now.

Gal was drunk that hit him.

His Model T rolled & he was thrown out.

No seat belt.

I thought the Rip Van Winkle car had been lost again. The guys over on the T forum seemed to think so. Great that it isn't lost, and that it's in a safe place. Truly amazing story. And a valuable reference. Here's my 1915 that I refurbished and got back on the road a few years back. Don't drive it that much anymore, but it sure turns heads!

This one would have a Dodge engine in it. Looks sweet!
