Sorry guys,if someone can straighten it would be great. There could be a mm diff one way or other but going to be pretty accurate.Anyone using or trying to use Holleys will have to add the thickness of the adapters and spacers if run.EVERYONE SHOULD be aware of exactly what I went through to get large top AFBs under the hood on a 62 GP with out cutting the hood.Tom

Not to mention all of the 54299/91, 9770319, and 9770859 intakes that were sold over the counter and which are now on who knows how many tribute cars? Not bathtubs but certainly 421SDs.

Looks great! I keep trying to find a way to justify buying one.
Mikes Reply: "Try to find a reason "NOT" to buy one".

(1) Mike, would like to know "How many Ponies will I get over my current HP level?

(2) Is It required to Port match my "D"- Port Heads to the Bath Tube Manifold from the start?

(3) Here is a better description of my existing set up: Since I have a 1979 TA Scoop, open toward the Windshield, over the existing Tri-Powers on top of my 1976 Formula Hood and the "Poor designer" before me, "did not" account for the forward most Carb. height (the Scoop should have been installed more forward to fit correctly) I use a small Filter on top of the forward Carb. The Center and Rear Carb. clear well. That being said, I run a 1979 Pontiac TA with the 428 HO. "Will I have any issues fitting the Air Filters, if I go with the 409 carbs"? What is the 409 Carb? "Is it an exclusive type, just for the Chevy 409"? Do I have a second practical choice to Carburation?

LOL! True!

I have a long list of reason not to. Like I have a big pile of parts to buy to get my car back together.

Don't feel bad, I have to rebuild the TH400 on my Vehicle and I am reading all my saved files in order to accomplish this task. My roommate is doing the same thing. Soon we will watch some Videos and build our confidence up. I have the parts to rebuild it, but I am sure we will find some hard parts inside to replace. This is first in my priorities and foremost.

Mikes Reply: If you are saying "It is Impossible to buy any Trans. kit parts meaning: Seals, Bushings, Steels and Clutches you are semi-correct. However, I was turned down by two companies that sold the rebuild Trans. kits, so I jumped on the third one, that happened to be, an in-stock "B+M" kit, without the Kolene Steels nor the Torrington Bearings. I can live with the Regular Steels and I bought the Torrington Bearings else ware. I bought the extra special rear Case Bushing with Shims & Bearing, only to find that Sonnex carried a better version with a Lip to keep the Bushing from moving out toward the rear of the case. I had to purchase the Thrust washers kit else ware too and then I ordered an extra Shim kit for End-Play Tolerances, since I am" not" stocked, as a Transmission shop would be. Presently, I am learning all I can before I open the Case, the Trans. is in my shed awaiting dissection. I just hope I can get any hard parts online when it is time.

Mike here: now that I re-read your Post, the meaning went of it went over my head, with these one liners people throughout, in a split second, my bad.
