Question 1971-72 Sport Mirror Template

I did a search for the correct mounting position if the 71-72 sport mirrors and found a thread referencing a template. I searched for the template and did not find anything other than the thread referencing the template. Does anyone have this? Need to know sizes of the holes and locations. I'm covering my 70 to sport mirrors and want them in the correct location.

The hole sizes really don't matter. The mirror base itself will dictate where the template sits in relation to mirror. Holes are better a bit big (1/4"). If you have remote mirrors, the big hole is about 3/4". You really need to find a template made for the purpose. It has a thicker edge on the top than bottom to allow mirror to sit level. It would be hard to make one. They're plastic also.

This should help. Not mine but copied from others. Measure and confirm mirror location before drilling. I used Rivnuts for screw mounting and also used body adhesive to glue a backing plate behind the door skin for more support (on passenger door, Drivers door already had it).
