Not trying to start a crapstorm here, but those look like 68 seat patterns, I though 69's looked more like the lines on the door panels. I know my car inside and out, but I am no GTO expert about other years.

I think we had a conversation like this a few months ago. I still have the same opinion- for a lot of us we look forward to this information. I mean I am never going to build a perfect car- but I am curious as to what does or does not make a car a $60k Judge vs a $200k Judge. This is an education for a lot of us. Some things I might incorporate into my builds, some I won’t but I still enjoy the conversation about what is ‘right’, what could be ’right’, and what are common mistakes.

Could the initial post have been more clear? Of course. Is it worth arguing about? Not at all.

The car is posted for sale and asking above ‘excellent’ pricing per Hagerty’s website so I think it realistic to think there are going to be discussions about it.

If this was a member / anyone posting pics of their car or work then I subscribe to the theory of if you don’t have anything nice to say shut up.

I for one would like to hear more about the car.... good/bad/right/wrong whatever

Those are '69 covers and correct.

See ... we learn new things constantly. We can correct our misconceptions, build better cars, learn what to look for.

Some people must just totally break down into a puddle at a judged car show.

Great in theory, problem is with this thread there have been more inaccurate representations made than accurate.

I don't recall making any inaccurate statements

Yours were the exception.

I wonder how many on this thread know Doug here is a POCI car judge?

Thanks Boss! Only judged POCI a couple years, but I (along with a few others on PY) have been judging for GTOAA for more than the last 10 years. Given the chance, I'll tear something apart, but I try to be fact and research based and keep speculation at a minimum.

So, the question for me is: Is a true 69 Judge worth 100G? (Excluding the BJ and Mecum stuff)

Typically speaking with the right set of desirable options and correct numbers...I would say yes. A true, well done, well documented car will bring that.

With respect to auctions...those typically are not cream of the crop. There are some nice examples that pass through on occasion, but a lot of warmed over turds run the auction circuits repeatedly. There are far more nice cars being passed around in private sales then at auction in my opinion.

I’m not sure but here’s a NOM Matador Red Judge in the $40s so you be the judge (pun intended)

Not nit-picking ... just asking ... so that year Judge didn't use a TVS of any kind? Notice the usual spot on the intake is plugged.

This is nit-picking ... jeez, the driver side hood looks a little wonky, doesn't look like the usual sticky hinge bend.
