The question should be

Will our children cherish these cars?

I wondered about things like that when the housing bubble happened a few years ago.

Who's ever going to buy a house again....wow, people actually walked away from their homes.

Will the 20-30 year olds ever be able to afford a house? They are spending real money on getting married, and having children.

Well, I see they are in the housing market buying 1mil plus houses, and lake house, boats, and toys.

Do I worry about the next bubble? Yes, but I've been thru the cycles before.

Next one will be their first....

My friends runs were bone stock with less than 1000 miles on it. Stock tires as well. Back then, there would always be a half a dozen GN's running down the track in stock form. Many would run in the upper 13's. Not trying to argue it, but I used to witness it often.

We should get back to topic.

I believe they referred to it as the "dirty slow cosworth vega ". I'll keep buying 68- 73s. Finally got myself a RAII .

I'll be attending BJ coming up in 4 weeks. They have some on the roster. Interesting to see if the early 70's or late 70's do better.

My guess, original low mile bandit will top early t/a (not 73sd)

Is there a list of Cars at Scottsdale?

Like to see what's on the docket...

My money is going to be on the early ones. I don't see a bandit edition topping a RA IV or 455HO car, and especially not a 69 TA anything. But unfortunately I don't see any good examples during the spotlight for early or late models

Here's a mid year, some consider the last of the decent ones, although not a last year 455 model though, and apparently not good enough for the weekend spotlight because they put it up Thursday.

This one goes across Friday, a 74 and the only stock F-body bird on the Friday roster that I see. At least it seems they felt the 74 deserved a Friday spot. I think later models will be seen earlier in the week.
https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Even...S-AM-SD-213242

I see no other F-body stock Pontiacs on Friday, and nothing on Saturday. Only A-body judges and RA IV's. That tells me both the early and late 70's birds just aren't hot enough or not good enough examples to make the grade for Friday or Saturday. Probably some lesser models and cheaper deals had earlier in the week, but I don't have time at the moment to go through the whole roster.

When I attend on the weekend, all the cheaper stuff will have went through so I'll sift through the cars for any early or late birds that went early in the week and see what they sold for. Usually stuff during the week has issues, non correct items, old restorations, driver quality type stuff that probably reflect more of what most generally see, so they don't make the spotlight on the weekend.

I just went through the whole roster. Other than what I posted I don't see anything. Looks like anything TA isn't going to be a hot item this year at BJ.

May have to look at Russo Steel and the other auctions going on in the area that weekend.

Mecum Kissimmee in January should offer some good comparisons...

That's not a valid comparison - a Black 6900 mile 76 455/4spd TA will beat an older repaint non-restored "showing it's age" auto/A/C 72 TA every day of the week and should.

There are a TON of low mile (sub 10k mile) third gens out there, there are almost no legitimate 1st & 2nd gens.

The point is to see what is selling. Is the auction house actually selling cars? Or are these just the same cars as last year selling again...

The 76 SE sold last year and is again on the block.

More to follow...

That first one has been on Ebay before. It's a little rough, and I don't think it's worth what he's asking.

That 76 is nuts. I get it's a totally original 6k mile car, but it's not an LE. It's a pretty basic stripped down 76 with low miles.

LOL, I can buy a lot of very nice top dog fire breathing muscle cars for the kind of coin he wants for that low compression smog era 76.

It's neat and all that, but not $70k neat.
