WOULD SOME ONE TELL ME IF THE FRONT 70 GTO COMP. A/C BRACKET IS SUPOSE TO BE A CAST ALUMINUM PIECE OR A STEEL STAMPING . IT LOOKS LIKE MAYBE EARLY 70 GTO'S GOT THE ALUMINUM BRACKET WHILE IN MID YEAR OR SO THEY SWITCHED TO A STEEL STAMPING??? I SEE 70'S WITH BOTH , WHITCH ONE IS CORRECT? MY 70 WAS BIULT IN DEC. OF 69. SHOULD IT HAVE AN ALUMINUM BRACKET AS THEY USED IN 69??
THANKS JIM |

Forrest is right, its aluminum. Only guess for the stamped brackets you have seen on other '70 GTO's is the engine isn't original or brackets were replaced somewhere down the line.

gtomokwa, e-mail me as a reminder and I'll send you some pictures, or search back in the 70-72 GTO tech forum and I think I had some pictures a little over a year ago.
