Default Manual steering Box Seal Replacement

Has Anyone replaced the seals and had it work? mine is leaking bad on the output. it doesn't seem to have any slop I think it's just the 59 years.

I know there are new replacement boxes but this is the original I'd like to save it. maybe pump it full of grease rather than oil?

Assuming you are talking about the Pitman Arm Seal on a non-power steering full size Pontiac from model years 1956 thru 1966 you need a GM part number 5670325. Same seal on 61-63 Tempest. Also used on same era Chevy and Oldsmobile products. I don't have Pontiac parts book newer than 1966, but RockAuto says 67 and 66 Tempests with standard steering use the same seal.

thanks I'll try that first. if it doesn't work I'll see if I can get Redhead or someone to rebuild it.
