I get the car up level on some tall jacks stands under front frame and rear axle. I do this in two passes, as the tall stands are 22.5" high rather than the 16" of the stubby stands. Then I raise the car by the front cross member with a 3 ton floor jack and a 4x4. In back, a 2 ton bottle jack sitting on a 6x6. I do each end of the car very slowly all the while placing wood under the stands to make sure they are never too far away to catch the car if anything happens. 2 stands are always in contact with the car as I go through the process. I start with the front and then the back. I do this until there is enough room to slide the cribs in.
