Default Ram air pieces

So, I was cleaning up under the hood and had a question.

Were the boot flanges and screens painted or plated? And, where can I get some good RA boots?

I decided to have mine plated. Working on the clips for the '74, as they were green colored.

Only have had 2 '70 original ram air Formulas, both Van Nuys. The boot flanges were painted (& flaking) gloss black. Looked like same paint as the typical used on air cleaner bodies.
1 had screens in place and again, flaking black paint of such poor quality that couldn't swear for sure what the gloss was. Definitely not plated.

Boot flanges 80% gloss cheap alkyd paint when new.
Scenes were clear zinc which faded like cheap galvanize.
Screens sold OTC were shiny clear zinc too. I do have the correct 74 clips, but not greenish, which was a rust inhibitor similar to Parkerizing that was used by some manufacturers.

They were green zinc coated. Like the clips for the bumper filler.
