Depends what your going to do with it and what 1st gear do you intend to get along with the rear gear.I have a 62 GP with a 3.42 first gear ST10 and 2.68s in the back.Great for street driving and super nice on the highway.Tom

I have a 2.52 1st gear Muncie in a 62 Catalina. It has a 3.42 rear gear. I like it just fine. Shifts nice, a fifth gear would be nicer. It was in the car when I bought it. Everyone will have their opinion but I would prefer to have super T-10 in the car. I like the shift feel even better and feel they are stronger as well. When my 500 HP engine is ready next year, I imagine the Muncie will be scattered all over the highway in short order. I would say up to 350-375 HP, driving pretty conservatively on street tires, a Muncie will last a good long time. I see you were asking about specifically a 2.20 Muncie M22. Again I lean toward the Super T-10 where you can have almost the same strength as an M22 without all the gear noise in the reduction gears and more torque multiplication in first. Unless you want to run allot of rear gear ratio.
