He grew up in my neighborhood and went to school with my sisters. He used to play guitar on my neighbors front porch and jam with them,back in the 60’s. I was just a kid. Sad to see.

Until I saw him on Austin City Limits a couple of years ago, I'd never heard of him.

He has had health issues for a long time, so I don't know if it's fair to statitistically pin this on "The Virus".

Sure it is. It's the thing that sends you over the edge, he'd likely be alive today if he hadn't contracted it. And that's what makes the virus so dangerous, those who already are struggling or having problems but getting by get taken down by it.

Was a dear friend of the late and great Steve Goodman. I saw JP in a small club near Orlando in the 80s. Good show.
