Re: Your WTB OEM Rims Post

Hiya,

As it’s likely that another PY Forum Member will step up by having OEM Pontiac runs; In case that doesn’t happen, take a hard look at:
Wheel Vintiques

Dave

Those WV Smoothies won't work for poverty caps, they don't have the little knobs on the center ring to hold the caps on.

The correct WV rims are the Series 62.

I was just wondering about the inner-bump outs to fit the 1972 poverty hubcaps. Thanks fir the references both. I’ll check out the Series 62

Here's a guy out my way that has a set of hubcaps that look really nice, had them on CL for a long time. Might check with him if interested. 8cbce38f773a3da3aad74b36f40c48e8@sale.craigslist.o rg

Well I’ve got 15x7 BFGs now on my honeycombs so need to use them otherwise 15x8 could be a deal. Thanks

Bermuda

Your Honeycombs are 15x7's. What size are your BFG's? If they are 225/70/15's - the 8" wide rims would be too wide. If you're running 245/60's or wider - 8" would be fine as long as they have the proper backspacing.

And you're not just limited to 15's with the Series 62. The one's on my GTO are 17's.

I had issues getting my original poverty caps to stay on the Wheel Vintiques rims. My 1977 original steel wheels hold them perfectly but they popped off the WV wheels.
I'll probably sell my set of 15" steelies but they are 6" width.

I’ll verify my BFG sizes but I recall there being 245/60/15 front and 265/60/15 rear.

I use 15" steel 4-3/4 wheels all the time for customizing. They are getting harder to find but mid to late 70's "G" body (Monte, GP, Cutlass, ect.) will do what you are looking for. Junk yards, Craigslist and Carpart.com will be your friends.

This started life as a stock width '77 Monte wheel

Default Steel rims

I found a set this weekend at a local swap meet. The 15x7 rims are JJ and confirmed to be correct for the Pontiac poverty hubcaps. Thanks
