The good, great prices w/choice of name brands or "junk", the only place I could find correct (not black plastic) wiper blades and refills for 70s GM. The BAD, beware of pricey electrical parts, warranty is non-existent. I bought a new brand name starter that fried on second start, tried to go thru their return process but couldn't get return authorization. Had paid w/ PayPal and got refund thru PayPal after about a month total.

I have been buying from them for years... my Go To company. They let you know parts quality and their warranty response is outstanding.

If you can wait a couple or three days for your parts, they are fantastic. They have a wide array of parts, and list the different grades of those parts. Prices are GREAT.

Their parts application charts are great, but that being said: If your car has a "sub-model", that sub-model is not listed until you get to the actual part you are buying.
For instance: I bought a fuel pump for my wife's 06 Malibu, or so I thought. It did not fit, and it was because by accident I bought one for an 06 Malibu Maxx. They took it back, of course I had to pay shipping and 10% restocking fee. My fault, should have paid closer attention.

SO

They are great, just watch your p's and q's when ordering.

You are correct 5 hours on a good day, when we bought our 75 TA we drove to Pitt in a snow storm, and it took 6 1/2 hours to get to the guys house. Actually he was a member here. The TA came home on a car carrier. This was in January, maybe 7 years ago.

Default Surprised to say the least

Recently I decided to replace the bushings in the front arms of my 68 gto. They were 15 years old, no issues. Looked up Advance Auto Moog parts and upon picking them up at store found bushings in box in plastic bags coated with oil. Upon closer inspection found deteriorated rubber soaked in oil. Showed counterman and he marked them as defective. Went and ordered from Rock Auto same parts. Received the SAME way. Soaked in oil within plastic bags in box, with deteriorated rubber. Returned to rock auto as defective. They still charged return shipping. After a search in local stores, found a set of bushings , same#, dry in box the way they used to be . Good to go..Apparently, Moog it selling 30 year old parts soaked in oil to pass off as new. I informed Rock Auto of this as their reputation depends on customer service, I advised them to check their stock. Don't think it went very far as I got a call from their Headquarters telling me they were sorry that the Color of the bushings were not to my liking but they were not defective??

I bought a tan convertible top and back glass window from Rock auto. Both selections clearly stated Tan. I received a 2 back windows instead, one glass one plastic. both black. took over 2 weeks to get a response and it was in the form of a partial refund only. No sending back. So if you know anyone who needs glass and plastic 70 gto convertible back windows let me know. I have used them for gaskets and sensors, bearing etc. They pointed in their documentation that color is at their discretion. Why have a choice on their site if they only send what they feel like sending. and the plastic back window instead of a conv top? no apologies. Just dumbfounded. I haven't bought anything from them since.

Another A+++ for RockAuto here. I used to buy local all the time. But, with Rock Auto I can usually get a better quality part for 40-50% less. I just can't say no to that. My Dad used to have a shop so I could get his discount at the parts store and Rock Auto was still cheaper 98% of the time.

When I did the front end on my ‘71, I ordered all the parts from Rock Auto. Tie rod ends, idler arm, center link, ps hoses, etc, They had different quality level pricing and closeout/shelf pull parts too. I don’t know if they still have it, but they had a shipping cost optimizer to allow you to order from the fewest number of vendors for lowest shipping cost.

One thing to look at is the RSS after your engine size, click on it and it will take you to a screen. Then on that screen click on the HTML blue icon on the right side . That will show all the closeout end run parts they will sell you cheap. I have a '88 4X4 D50 mini Ram that I am just saving for later but I must have a boat load of parts for it.
