The OP stated his reasons why he wanted what he wants and I respect that. Others here seem to have some obvious butthurt and jealousy over the inferior product they drive because they will not let it be.

Does it feel good to have the last word? I bet it does. Happy trolling!

All can say is that my Tundra has 200,000 miles and it has been bulletproof. And it's not just the durability. II's how it drives. It's how it feels and also how it looks. And it's made in Texas. I don't know of any other 2007 truck that has 381 horsepower and still looks as good. Brand loyalty is one thing, but for me the proof is in the pudding and that's why I recommend it to anyone who will listen. Don't forget that the thing has had to survive 13 Canadian winters.

Avoid Ford 5.4 with the 3 valve engine. And I’m a Ford truck guy telling you this.

GM never used the Ford engine, so the 5.4 point is moot.

To the OP, are you aware of the corrosion problems to brake and fuel lines that the GM 1500 series trucks of that era are known for? Rocker panel rot is a good indication of the lines being bad.
Less than 8 years ago my son bought a 2001 4WD Silverado that was a documented one owner truck from northern Va. It looked just fine then. 4 years ago we blew the truck apart (cab and bed off) to replace the parts mentioned above. Every single fuel and brake line, rocker panels and cab corners had failed. My point being you're in Michigan, so be on the hunt for something well below the Mason-Dixon line if you're looking to avoid those problems. Also avoid Florida and Gulf coast trucks.

Yet you said nothing about the Toyota being brought up in the thread. Besides people do change their minds.

Okay. You are right. Toyota is not GM. Tim john asked about GM trucks. Because he asked about GM trucks, I suspect he has no interest in Dodge, Ford or Studebaker trucks either. I would expect he wants answers regarding GM trucks.

I must be doing something wrong. I have the cheapest pontiac built in 2002 a sunfire with 230,000 miles still use everyday. A 2007 new body silverado 210,000. and a 2008 buick lucerne 220,000. And a gmc denali 155,000. havent spent any money on them except tires, brakes, oil changes. If only I would buy Toyotas I could of put timing belts ,frames, required upkeep, jeeze if only i would have consulted the experts. I checked the TOYOTA dealer has a full service department for a reason they are not just cleaning them back there all states of tore up odd. Rod Cole

I must be the luckiest guy in the world.

I've had one AC repair in the last 25 years of driving GM products.

1994 Chevy Astro - 190,000 miles
1998 Pontiac GP - 155,000 miles
1999 GMC Sierra 4x4 - 220,000 miles
2000 Chevy S10 - 160,000 miles
2000 GMC Jimmy - 36,000 miles (lease vehicle)
2006 Pontiac Torrent - 155,000 miles
2006 Chevy HHR - 200,000 miles (company car)
2011 Chevy Impala - 300,000 miles (company car)
2014 Chevy Sonic - 55,000 miles
2014 Cadillac ATS - 55,000 miles
2019 Chevy Equinox - 10,000 miles

That's over 1,500,000 miles with only one (1) AC repair. Cost was $301.00 on the Pontiac Torrent at 115,000 miles.

As to the Tundra towing an enclose trailer...

Why does Joe Gibbs Racing debadge Chevy, Ford and GMC pickups that were towing their NASCAR show cars around?

Because they didn't want people to see that Toyota didn't make a truck for towing....

This place is getting as bad as some of the groups on FB. OP asks a question, a few guys give relevant answers and the rest start spouting off bad or irrelevant info and ignorant opinions.

As long as they weren't brought here from the rust belt, they are really clean underneath.

Yeah, that’s why I always carfaxed the trucks I was looking at. I found one down in Phoenix that sounded promising, but the history on it showed it spent it’s entire life in Pennsylvania. I kept looking!
One of the other ones I found was on its 7th owner!
Car fax is no guarantee, but can be a good tool to use to cya

You can have 10 owners that pampered a vehicle or 1 owner that beat the living hell out of it.

No crap. It’s a tool to use, not a guarantee.

You might want to post in the Garage sale forum, it’s for things you have for sale or wanted that is not Pontiac related. You may get better replies there.

I have bought my last two vehicles searching through CARFAX. Usually has good photos. You can tell a lot by how well an interior is kept up. The carfax history will tell you where the vehicle has been and sometimes you will get a good service history. I bought a 2wd truck in Minneapolis. It was a trade in from a person from TX who wanted a 4wd for the winters up there.
Here is one on Carfax https://www.carfax.com/vehicle/2GCEC13T251297356
