only light I have not addressed is the brake warning light. its minor because I stay on top of my hobby cars maintenance but none the less that's a great spot for a red led hooked up for that. gives the hole a purpose. thanks, thought about opening up a spot in the bezel and re-using the "BRAKE" lens but decided to much trouble.

that hole is because they have a pull handle there for other models. funny, when I first got my car it had been so long since I had anything past 1969, I looked for the handle and thought it was missing before seeing they moved it to the dash. hilarious.

in case those that have not checked, you don't have to get the blinkers and high beam in the speedo. you can use existing.

Yep, a friend jumped in my 75 and couldn't find the brake release.

When I bought the 75, previous owner drilled a hole in next to the rear defog switch. Thought it looked out of place and searched for an alternative. That ebrake hole hit me hard, why didn't I think of it earlier!

I found a 14mm brake warning light that matches the bezel pretty nicely. I’m thinking about using the center hole for the RTS badge and mounting it there and using the other RTS hole location for the dimmer.
Have not decided for sure which way to go yet.

that's a nifty piece also. in looking at my e brake bracket there's plenty of meat on the inboard side think i'll use the hole wick talked about for the brake light and drill a hole on the inboard side for the dimmer. even though I don't really need either or hardly ever use a dimmer. but they'll be there.

where did you source that brake light piece? thanks

Found it on eBay. Just search for “14mm LED dash warning” and you’ll find a bunch of them.

I'm doing trial fitting for New Vintage USA. This is their first round of mounting plates. The 2 small gauges fit perfectly. I had to do some tweaking on the large panel though, and have sent it back for them to adjust their cutting program.

The gauges in the pictures are hollow dummy versions. They make a variety of styles, and you can choose any of the styles.

They are working on a solution for illuminating the "Lights Wiper Wash" panel as well.

For Voltage, the digital (OLED) window on the Tach can show voltage, along with other options.

Blinker indicators are included in the panel. But a variety of other warning lights are incorporated (invisible when off) on the main gauge faces.

I'm probably going with the 1969 series.

that's another nice option. direct fit like that with all back lights included would be great. even cooler is being the one helping fit/develop them! are they going to add a shift light option and gps speedo? like not seeing any silly analog clock in there ha. and the fuel gauge in the center as it should be.

sidenote, when I had a new 1980 TA it drove me nuts that the angle to seeing the fuel gauge I couldn't tell how low I was when nearing a quarter tank. had to lean to see it. a young 18 year old had to put off pumping gas as long as possible $ ! the double oil/temp gauge to crammed together I always thought also.

There is some sort of shift-light program integral with the tach, and I believe it can also trigger an external shift light.

The speedometer is not cable driven. You can either buy a GPS driver (about $100) or an electronic thingy that attaches in place of the cable at the transmission (about $45, I think). I'm probably going to go with the GPS.

I agree, I like the fuel gauge right there in the middle.

I have a Cobra replica, and it is a rather "nervous" car to drive with quick steering and a short wheelbase. As such, you can't take time to "read" the gauges. As such, I have the Tach mounted so that when the needle is straight-up, it is time to shift. Water and oil temp gauges are rotated so that if they are pointing "left", they are good. The oil pressure and voltage gauges are rotated where they should be point "right". The "lefts" are mounted to the left, the rights to the right - so a quick glance tells me if I need to worry about anything.

That would probably be overkill with these, but the gauges CAN be swapped around and rotated, if the owner wanted to.

That setup looks really nice. When do you believe these mounting plates will be available? I would like to have a gauge for voltage, and so I'm wondering if there's a style that has 2 in 1 gauge options? For example, water temp and voltage together, or the fuel in the speedo, etc.

As I'm a customer not a rep, I can't say for sure. I suspect they will be looking at my modifications on Monday, and have an adjusted set back in the mail to me by the end of the week. So I should have that set installed by the end of the following week. The changes were minor, the 4 holes that hold it all together needed about 1/16" sideways adjustment and 1/8" vertical, the the openings for the gauges need a complimenting adjustment, also a small bit of trimming along the bottom and sides of the back two plates.

It seems to me that they should have this ready for the public by the end of July, if not sooner.

Check their webpage for the variety gauges they offer. They do have some speedo's and tachs that have two smaller gauges integral - use those then you could have trans temp, oil temp, AFR or whatever in the other holes. They may be willing to do something custom as well, but you'd have to ask them.

For me, having a digital voltage readout in the little OLED window of the tach will suffice for that purpose.

How the digital voltage looks in the window of their "1969" series

Wow Lee, those are looking really good. I like the fact it uses the OE mounting, and the turn lights in OE position too. I hate chopping up the bracing in the dash, especially since I will be getting a new one.

Lee, so there's no interference with the gauge bezels and the OE bezels on the insert?

I also would really like to use the OE dash A/C vent holes, am going with a VA setup, so am going to need combo gauges.

Very nice there are so many options now, going to be a tough decision!

I actually just finished round 2 of test fitting. They had me test 3 different designs for this round. The first two were easy to make, but the OE bezels were too close to the bezels on the gauges. The 3rd design is a multi-layer, which allows the gauges to be "counter sunk", which gives room for the OE bezels.

Some custom wiring will need to be performed. I'll be installing an electronic unit on the transmission, to signal the electronic speedometer (no more speedo gear changes!). But these should bolt in and not require any modifications to the dash.

The attached picture was sent to me yesterday. Notice the tab at the left. It will hold a small LED, and will replace the "prism" to illuminate the "Lights Wiper Wash" indicator. You can also see the layers, and how they will allow the gauges to be inset to allow clearance to the bezels.

I should have the final product in hand, installed and running within the next 2 weeks.

Very nice! And they plan on offering this as an off the shelf item? Or reproducible design?

Take a look at this link: http://newvintageusallc.mybigcommerc...-fit-packages/

That shows the packages they currently offer for other vehicles. Based upon that, you pick which series of their gauges (the test-fit gauges were their "Performance" series, and I'll be using the "Aviator" for my actual install), and they will provide those gauges with the appropriate mounting brackets, sending units, etc.

I'm sure they will have brackets on hand most of the time. But it appears they have all the equipment on hand to quickly produce what they need. Probably 2 or 3 days at the most, to get a set assembled and shipped, I suspect.

I worked with them in the past, and their customer service is superb. Even though they offer a 5 year warranty, I've seen them take care of issues past the warranty period.

Dang, I'm not seeing any 160 mph speedos.

Think they sell the brackets only?

The speedometers are (basically) infinitely adjustable. It would cost a bit extra, but they can just print a different scale on the face of the gauge, then adjust the gauge settings to match.

You also can set the window to give a digital speed readout.

NOTE: I've sent a note to my contact. They will gladly do a custom face, with whatever range you want. But you'll have to contact them directly for a quote. Submit requests to: http://newvintageusallc.mybigcommerce.com/rfq-form/

Thank you, much appreciated! Will still be a couple months before I go down this road but will certainly contact them when ready.
