Default Early inner handles on late model door?

Is it possible to mount the 70-74 inner door handles on a later door?

Probably not without cutting and welding. However, you can use the early door panel with the latter model door as long as you use the late model and hanker surround trim piece.

That's what I did, used early braced doors, and have 79 door panels. Pretty sure all I did was open up the existing hole and use captured nuts to mount it.

I would have to take the door panels off to check to be sure, but that should be in like Oct, if you can wait that long. Might be able to get out there sooner, if you're thinking of doing something soon.

Oh wait, dyslexia kicked in, you want to use early handles in a late door? Not sure the inner structure will support that.

Inner structure needs to be welded/fabricated to fit early inner door handles.

I learned the hard way a long time ago when I unknowingly bought a 70' with later doors. Instead of modifying, I bought 70-74? doors.
