Default Need help with power steering and alternator brackets....

The new engine is installed into the car and mostly hooked up, i have hit a roadblock.

The new engine is 1968 Pontiac 400, the old engine was 1976 Pontiac 400.

I have the pump and alternator brackets from the 76 engine and used the timing cover from the 76 and and aftermarket FlowKooler water pump.

The power steering will not fit the 68 heads, there is a missing bolt hole in the head.

I figured we can get correct 67-69 brackets but after looking at a 69 firebird the water pumps are different and the alt bracket wont work from the gen 1 to the gen 2 pump I have.

I really don't want to change the timing cover and water pump on a brand new engine that has not even been fired yet.

Any suggestions on relocation kits? I was looking at a CVF Racing relocation kit, same place I bought my pulleys.

Thanks for the help!!!

I would say now is the perfect time to replace things that don't fit properly before anything get fired up. Just my opinion.

Forget about using any of your parts you were using, none will work. Easiest, fastest and best solution is use 67-70 p/s pump and brackets, 69 alternator brackets, and pulleys for late 69 or 70. Either no ac or ac will work but they must match. You will have no problem and belts are over the counter and available without any length issues.
