Wow..... lots of opinions on rims.... as I expected.

When I first considered rims for after the upcoming paintjob, My 1st thought was to do some sort of 5 spoke rim with either Charcoal or Black center......

But I do agree with most that the darker color might neet a polished/chrome rim to "pop" with all the lower stainless trim..... I wont even think of buying rims until the paint is done.....

Even the dogdish's are not ruled out, I do like that look, but if I do that, I would have those current ones I have powdercoated, and NEW hubcaps..... what you see on the car is really a marginal driver set.....

Pinstripe..... I tell ya what it wont be.......... the current White that it is....

I was thinking of doing it Black.... but Silver or No stripe are not out of the running...

This weekend I hope to get quite far with the stripping of the trim..... pics will follow of the carnage....

If I didn't have the Cragars on mine, the Torq Thrust D's would be on it. 5 spoke mags always looked great on the Goats.

I had them on my 65. The buyer opted for them instead of the rally I's.

Well, removed :

Sail panel trim

Windshield Trim

Rear window trim

Removed Power antenna

Peel off some of vinyl roof...

Good news..... Windshield area looks awesome, dont think I will need any metal work there....

Outside of both sail panels look pretty good so far....

Bad news.... Pass side inner sail panel near bottom is screwed.....

I cannot get the freakin pass wiper arm off.... and I am pretty sure I busted whatever spring holds on the d/s wiper arm.... oh well.....

So far I am pretty happy, I knew the rear window area was going to be the worst area, and unfortunatly I was right.....

Very happy with how the front windshield area looks....

Wow..... tired, and my shoulders are killing me...... Didnt quite get done, but did pretty good today...

The Bad:

Pass Sail Panel

D/S Front Fender

D/S Rear 1/4

Some other pics

My POR job, holding up fine

I didnt get to the Front Trim, Bumper, grills, etc..... Ran out of steam....

Also notice, I did NOT take off the window sweeps........ I guess you have to remove the window and 1/4 glass to get to these screws...., and I cant do that alone, so I will wait until I get the car to the shop to so that...

I had a few trim screws that stripped, and I had to drill out, and I think I damaged the D/S rocker...... which really pisses me off......

I am a little over-whelmed with this project, I almost feel like I bit off more then I can chew..... but I am in deep now....

Not bad at all. At least it can be repaired. And the toughest part looks good... your interior floor pan. It could have been much worse. I think you did alright.... congrats on your new Tiger. Feed it well.

BTW... the way it sits looks good. Could it be you've got bigger tires on the rear?

I think removing the crap in the trunk, and the interior brought the rear up about 1"+..... It will go back once everything is back...

It's either got a good set of airshocks and/or airbags that are still holding air. Or, a really good set springs and regular shocks. When I put extra air in my shocks and airbags I can get mine to sit up that high too. Those rear tires are a good size too by the looks of them. If you don't want the tires send em my way.

I have had the car for 7+years.....

It has fresh Hotchkis Springs and Bilstein Shocks.... I have 2" lifts under the rear springs becuase it was too low..... Like I said, its just missing about 200lbs of interior and crap in it.....LOL

This is how it sits in full gear

Same suspension as whats in it right now...

I love the color on it, with the vynil top. I'm not a fan of vynil tops, either. That just looks good the way it is (with a black stripe, or no stripe at all).

Nice looking goat. Im looking forward to seeing your progress.

I wonder if someone could photoshop a black pinstripe. Curious how that would look with the black vinyl top?

You guys will probably disagree but I think a red stripe would look killer on that car. I've seen the red stripe on dark blue and black cars that looked awesome. I think it would look great against that gray. Just a subtle exclamation point to enhance that great Coke bottle body line....Add the Rally Is with redline tires...Killer combo.
The white line definitely does not anything for that gray..

Stripe will be either Black ..... Silver..... or None....

Redline tires are not happening...... RWL tires stay...... Just one of my true loves...

Nut, is that a Charcoal Grey? The more I look at the picture in the garage of the front end, the more I like it. It's one sharp color on that car.

Great looking car as it is. I personally like painted tops for some reason so that sounds like a great idea.
I also like the Torq Thrust D's or of course the steel wheels looks great too.
Good luck and keep us posted!
