Default MSD 6530 box

Hi, is there anyone familiar with this box? I bought one and it wont let the engine run with it connected to the computer . It works to configure the tunes but after that i have to disconnect it to run the engine ..

Has anyone with this box ever experience this ?

Thanks

MSD Programmable Digital 6AL-2 Ignition Box. Just verifying this is the correct box? I run this 6AL2 box on my wife's car and had to have the box powered up with 12 volts when programming it. I connected the computer to the box installed in the car and did not have this issue as I can remember. I just remember needing a special cable to connect the computer to the box. (USB to Serial port) I could try it again and verify it works. Your suppose to be able to monitor some parameters ( rpm, degrees, and map) while engine is running. So I can't see how it would not let engine run when connected. Another thing is there coil specific. This is probably not mush help to you.

Thanks i appreciate your reply .

Its a 6AL-2 programmable box. I wound up sending the box back because it started not working even when not connected to the computer. Ill use my BTM box instead now .
