JP can't help but notice your post is in the judge only section. if your 70 is a indeed a judge it shouldn't have front valance chrome.

I didn't know that...

Why would PMD leave off the chrome trim?.. I picked up a set my my 70 restoration, but if it's incorrect, they're going on E-Bay..

Dc: I'm going by what the GM assembly manual says
drawing 9799797. Moulding p/n's 479408/9 all except WT1, and my own 70 and a friends, both low mileage unmolested Judges. It probaly falls into the same reason they deleted the trim rings, marketing says "it will look tougher",bean counters say "lets save $11.68 per car"!

Thanks for the drawing reference. I guess they'll go up on E-Bay this weekend.

Just got the turn signal fillers from PY,,, they are too big! The extend out past the front surface of the valence. Any clues? The car was missing these so I have no reference.

Is your front valance a nos gm piece? If it is you need to drill out spot welds on the signal light brackets and set them back farther gm placed the bracket ahead to far

It is the original valence, or at least a nice replacement. Yep, I figured to drill out the welds and extend them back, then weld in a spacer piece to get the correct distance.

How does the filler mount to the valence. The brackets have two square holes, like there should be nylon nuts or something there..

Thanks

Don

I have a 70 thats never been apart and will check out the signal light mounting in the morning and will get back to you.
I have a NOS valance and know that the brackets holding the lights and filler is too far forward.

Well I got the valence repaired this morning. Drilled out the welds, then taped the fillers in place securely. I then matched the brackets to the fillers, clamped them down and re-welded them in place.

Came out great!

There was one production run in the early 90's that GM let slip out the door with the park light bracket welded incorrectly. They probably let 300-500 sell before they recalled them. Easy fix, but confusing if you are not aware of it.
