My information indicates that the q-jet carb for my 71 GP 4-speed is a 7041263. Is that correct? I've been looking for one for some time with no results. Am I looking for something that does not exist?
thanks
Denny

Hey Denny:
I've had a 69 GP 4 speed for about 9 years. I've always wanted to see a '71 (rarest of the rare I guess except for a few 3 speeds floating out there. What kind of condition, have any pics?

PS I'm not sure if the Qjet appl is the same for '69-'71 but I'll check out the numbers on mine in the next week when I get to the car (garaged off-site).

7041263 is a valid Q-jet p/n. They are a unique carb, as they are rated at 800 cfm and only have one boost ring on the venturi. The 7041263 has a lot in common with the 71 455HO carbs (7041267, 7041268, 7041270, and 7041273), which are also 800 cfm and only have one venturi boost ring. These carbs are the only Q-jets I'm aware of with only one boost ring.

I have a 7041263 on a 71 400 4-spd engine I have (WK code). They're out there, but I suspect many have been bought up and restamped with 71 455HO numbers. They're also not very cheap.

I have a few 7041263's so I might be willing to sell one. Are you looking for one with a 1971 date code or will a later date code work?
