Never seen anything like it. I wonder if Pontiac emblem was added to a regular lighter, or if it came that way.

I saw that, was tempted to grab it But the shape of the lighter body was not familiar to me. I think of the Indian head to be more big car related. Still would look cool if it fit!

By its shape, it's 1950's at the latest. 1960's knobs are not shaped like that at all, and the lighter always matches all the other knobs in shape. It looks very early 1950's to me...pre '55. Check out some dash photos of '48-'53 cars and see if any have knobs that match.

ive had 100s of oem lighters...never saw that, i still have a 100 or so NOS, and that looks like 50s 60s..the insulator can help ID it..theres a ceramic insulator under the element..

almost every OEM lighter ive seen has a date somewhere on the metal..

i think its aftermarket or a made up piece..or could be some rare oem accy piece..hard to tell

my guess is that it's an accessory part from a pre-1960's car.
Does anyone here know about when cigarette lighters came standard in cars?

I think it’s cool as heck. But if was original why would is say Pontiac Service on it instead of Pontiac. Unless it were a dealership promo item?

Trivia item...I don't know about other years, but in 1961 Pontiacs had two different lighters, depending on where they were built. One did match the rest of the knobs, but the other was totally different and looked like it didn't belong.

My 1937 Chrysler had one, and a friend with a 1928 Graham Paige has three in his car. One up front and two in the rear.

The big Pontiacs had all the cool jewelry especially on the interior.

When I started junkyard crawling in the 1970's looking for GTO parts, I could not believe how much nicer the interiors of the big Pontiacs were....especially the Gran Prix and Bonnevilles. Made the old goats look spartan by comparison. Very high quality materials and super lay-outs. Particularly the '61-'66 models.
