Brush Finish 64 Spinner cap hub
Have 64 spinner wheel cap which some has polished out the the brush finish on the hub holding the spinner. Any info or techqniue on how to recreate the brush finish look??

Scotchbrite works well for this. The trick would be to set the wheel cover on a rotating surface so you can duplicate the circular pattern of the scratches. Removing the spinner for clearance should not be difficult.
You'd be surprised at how many people look at my '64 spinners and comment that they believe they should be satin overall. I have three complete sets of these wheelcovers, and they all are satin only in the recessed area behind the spinner.

We've used the vehicle itself as a "lathe" on more than one occasion.
Install the cap on a rear wheel. Jack the rear end up (set it in jackstands) and run the vehicle in first gear - or - for a manual trans vehicle you may even be able to put the car in neutral and still have the rear wheels rotating slowly. K
