Oil drippers, why do I need them ?
I have a chance to get a set of oil drippers (the kind that bolt onto the head bolts under the valve covers) for $20.00 Do they keep the valve springs cooler ?

If your running stock ball type rockers they keep them well oiled so they don't burn up above 4000 rpm.

If the factory was concerned with keeping the valve springs cooler they would have left off the cup type oil shields like they did on the RA motors of 69 and 70.

I like the mid 1970's factory valve covers. They have drippers welded inside to perform the same function. Then you don't need the head bolts with the protruding stud to retain the drippers. Certainly cost the factory less too I'm sure.

Yes, but they do not do as good of a job at keeping oil mist out of the breather cap by far!!
