Default top ending Nevada style

Hey Wareagle..how's things in the great white north? I kinda got sidetracked..I bought a barn find 1970 ta (really in a horse barn horse poop on parts and all!) I was going to make this one the basis of the top end car,but it's red interior car fully loaded..so now I want to make this one a nice g-style machine..17' torque thrusts, race style seats, newer a/c,200r overdrive tranny...THEN I went out and bought a pair of #44 ram air V heads...I'm looking at another 70 ta (blue 4 speed missing engine & trans) to put these heads onto....so right now my plates full!...but I have been in contact with various pontiac engine builders and kinda gave them my speed quest...it was unanimous..they all said lots of mph=$$$$$$$...gee we kind of knew that.....boy nice pics of the 71..any idea how fast he was able to get it too?..tell him to share what he's doing for his 70.....ED

Thanks guys --Trans Am Kahuna great Avatar--One of my favorite SCI-FI movies--THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL--I'll try to find out from Roger about the 71's top end --he said he'd let me know more about the 70 T/A racer when its completed--heres a pic of what it should look like --he wants to make it as close as possible to the restored Jerry Titus 70 SCCA T/A-- you sure do have your plate full -- working on two T/A'S --Roger also mentioned that hes spending some big $$$$ to do it right --will you be at Laguna Seca on the Aug 19th weekend --the JERRY TITUS T/A will be there-competing in the Historical races -Roger is friends with the owner of that T/A--He'll be there.

roadrage david, that car sure is looking good! That thing is going to be BAD!

Nice pictures War! That '71 sure is COOL. Man, I can't wait to get mine completed! I love the g-machine stuff, that's the way to build a TA. A TA is made to corner not to be limited to straight line use!

Talking Top ending Nevada style

I'd like to put the ram air V heads on an 1969 TA;but prices lately have gone out of sight..but I really love the 70-3 body style the best..so thats what I'm looking at..as for the engine to put them on;love to find an sr block ram air IV and do the stroker kit with the soon to be released forged crank..some years ago I got to hear the old Bruce Logan ram air V 69 Ta run...it was incredible..he zinged it to 6500 rpm's a few times for me...it didnt sound like any pontiac I've ever heard..it had a real growl to it after 5000 rpm.....for the top ender car I hope it'll look outwardly like the Titius/tirebird/yanque tanque but with many more modern safety updates..after consulting a few top Pontiac engine builders it looks like a twin turbo set-up on a aftermarket aluminum block will be the ticket..with a cockpit adjustible boost knob at my finger tips I can be at a relatively docile 10 lbs. of boost 700 hp for street or twist it to the borderline insane 25+ lbs and 1500 hp for competition (or for some poor soul driving an F-40 on the street..LOL)...BUT first things first..gotta get the horse poop barn car goin...til then....ED

I like those '70-'73's the best too. I would love to have found one but my '74 was there and those '70-'73's are getting REAL hard to find now. The Firebirds in those years are even getting hard to find. I'm thinking that for my next Poncho it will be a '69-'70 GP set up as a real Grand Touring machine. Nice suspension, air, cruise, 5-spd, all the power goodies I can find on the nicest one I can get my hands on. Put the same wheels I have on my TA on it, black w/black vinyl top. Or possably a '63, I really like the '63-'64's too. I was toying with doing something REAL crazy with a '59 wagon in a Pro Street form but my heart is in the road cars it's just that the GP will be a luxury touring car. I can see it now!

Kahuna, that last picture looks very much like driving down highway 240 here. The top one looks like several canyon roads in my area also. I just love that desert country because there aren't any trees to block your line of site.

I bet it isn't cheap! Man, it's spendy here but I beat it's BIG bucks there.

My dream is to take my TA to Europe and run at Nurburgring and then tour around, go down to Italy and see the Farrari Factory in Maranello, go to all the cool auto museums and all the traditional tourist site. Someday... when I have the money. I'm thinking hell will freeze just about the same time. It sure would be COOL though!
