For me it's a toss-up. It depends what your looking for. For pure style I think the 66-67 GTO's look the best. For a pure aggressive look I would say the 65 GTO. To see an all steel stock exterior 65 goat launching with a few inches of air under the front wheels is awsome. The best looking conv. GTO with the top down has to be the 70 GTO. Something about a 70 ragtop that looks great.

Personally, I really like the 68/69/70 Years.

The earlier years just don't look as cool to me.

The hidden headlight '69 GTO is the best IMO. Always looked tough and muscular coming toward you, especially with 60 series tires in the front. Always wanted one in convertible form and I was really lucky to find the one I have now. '68's also very sharp but I don't like the vent windows. After that 66-67's.

I like them all. It interesting to see how the 1966 - 1972 all had a common "coke" bottle over all shape yet the 66-67 are completely different in other aspects.

The 1967 and 1970 are milestone years in the technology and style of their years. Meaning that motor, interior, and suspensions of these two years surpassed prior years.

PMD discovered what were flaws from a manufacturing perspective and corrected them making the design more robust.

Default My favourite year...

Well, let's see...the '64 cause it started it all, that's such a classy little car; Pontiac nailed the interior on the '65, LOVE the seats w/the arrowhead emblem; '66 is the best body style, that rear end w/ the chrome strip and louvered taillights is awesome; '68 had the new body style; '69 no vent windows; '70 has that awesome front end...if (when) I get another GTO, I think it'll be a '64 Post coupe, and it had better be a 4speed!! If I ever consolidate all three of mine, I'll get a '69 4speed 'vert...

I noticed that the poll results indicate the '66-'67 is leading.
I think I need to see some pics (hint hint cough cough) to change my mind

All of them. Any GTO is better than any other non Firebird vehicle. A base GTO is more interesting and desirable than a base Chevelle SS, Charger, or whatever. If you own a GTO you are in a finite and elite group. Not everyone can have one, but almost everyone wants one.

There isnt a year I dont like, but right now I only have 3 years. I would love to collect them all, even if they were only rusty hulks of scrap metal..

Default 67, 69 and 73

Yup, that's our choice for our favorites! We own two (67 and 69) and couldn't find a 73 so we bought a Grand Am in it's place...but we still luv the 73's!

I agree. Theres something about 68 or 69 with hideaways that really looks tough with the right wheel & tire combo along with the right stance. My second choice for best GTO.

Your looks great!@!
