Thank you! We are quite excited. Never dreamed it would happen. But to get a car this nice, this inexpensive, puts us in a position to be able to move forward with a plan to make this happen. With a friend who is a top notch body man who is willing to do the work at a rate that we can afford also makes this a doable project. We have been so incredibly fortunate with the greatest friends anyone could possibly have!

Charles, you would not believe the condition of this original vinyl top on this car. It's truly amazing! Almost hard to believe!

Wow...what an incredible deal. I know Russ probably won't be able to sleep for a week knowing he missed that one.
If I'm ever lucky enough to run across a car that unmolested and original, I won't do a thing to it but drive it every day.

I'll post several more pics later today. This car still has the cardboard inserts screwed to the sidewalls in the trunk area. This car is about as complete as I have ever seen any garage/barn find to be!

I honestly believe you could get in this car and drive it just about anywhere right NOW! It starts, drives and rides like a car that has been a daily driver from day one! It's hard to believe it hasn't been on the road in over 20 years. Someone at least knew how to store this car for long term storage. We pulled the back seat out and NO critters at all!

$650,Greg you right, i'm going to be sick. You have bought the deal of the century. Good thing i think '69 GP are ugly...i'll give you $1,500 and take that GP off your hands.

LOL

Your comments strike a chord. Believe it or not, when my friend dropped this car off and pulled it off the trailer the first thing I said to him was "hurry up and get this thing in my back yard and get the cover on it. It's so damn ugly I don't want my new neighbors to get mad about having it in my yard".

Two days later my wife is out there pulling the cover off the car. Next day she is sitting in it. Day three she says "you know, I kinda like that car, it has a 400 in it right? Does it have a posi rear? How hard would it be to convert it to a 4-speed? You know, if this car was a 4-seed and had a posi w/3.55 gears and a 3" exhaust I think we could get to like this ole girl. Then, all it would need is a triple black conversion and this b*tch would be bad"!

Well, here we are...

The 1969 and 1970 GPs are one of my most favorite Pontiacs built. I have had two 69s,one was gold and the other was midnight green and a pepper green '70. I would have it professionally buffed out and put some white tires on it and ride. I think you'll be surprised how good that car could run when it's tuned just right.

I do need a right front turn signal lens and bezel if anyone has one. Other than that this car is 100% complete. I'll take some pics today and post them. Been very busy on the house trying to get it ready for Christmas...

The lens and bezel are available NOS from most of the sources. The lens is actually for '70-'72, it has an amber strip on the outer side and it's expensive (especially considering you would want a pair, so they match). I haven't seen the '69 style without the amber, but the '70-'72 style will fit.

$89 EA from PY

Did you mean to say repop instead of NOS? I'd like to find a used 69 if I can. But I realize that may be a tough find for a 1 year only part. Then to have to buy two of the others at $90 each, ouch! just for a pair of turn signal lenses!

Yep, repop, sorry about that.

Mine are intact but crazed. I would prefer the original '69 style, but finding some that aren't equally crazed won't be easy. I'll probably end up with a pair of these eventually.

I did get my PY catalog from Brandon the other day down here at the Turkey Run. In fact we bought some stuff for my friend's 67 GTO that was just recently finished. Brandon is a great guy and represents PY very well. I've had my issues with attempting to buy parts over the years from PY and if not for Brandon, well, we'll leave it at that. I am glad to see there are several parts available for these cars!

More pics:

Everything works on this car, running lights, tail lights, turn signals, brake lights, dash lights, interior lights etc. etc. etc. Just incredible!

I now have all of the 4-speed conversion parts rounded up. I will most likely sell the cruise control unit complete, if anyone is interested. It may be awhile before I get to the 4-speed conversion but keep it in mind if anyone is interested in the cruise unit, I am guessing they are hard to come by, especially a complete system!

I want the cruise control !!!

But I only really need the parts that sit over the valve cover and all associated hardware for just that.

I would probably take everything IF thats the only way you would sell it, but i have the rest of it.

Please Please Please consider me first!

PS. I was at the Turkey Rod Run too! Where are you in FL? I'm in Merritt Island...

I'm thinking it would be a lot easier and worth a lot more to sell the cruise as one complete 100% unit, but I may be wrong. I am also going out on a limb and guessing this thing works, I'll know soon.

I am at the Turkey Run every year with my friend who is an appraiser. He has two appraisal booths, then this year we had 4 swap spots full of nothing but Pontiac parts as all of us Pontiac guys all had tons of left over parts to unload. We sold a LOT of stuff this year. I sold off most of my left over LeMans/A-body stuff as well.

I am in DeLand, FL and I will certainly give you first crack at the cruise when the time comes! If you are ever up this way PM me ahead of time and stop by for a visit!

Joe

DeLand... You're just up the road!

I have a complete cc kit from a '70 that I planned to install. The actuator mounts on the fenderwell like yours, but the servo/bellows mounts there also and pulls the throttle with a cable instead of that chain you have. I was going to install it anyway, but I sure would like to have the correct setup. I don't know if it will mount over the valve cover with my dual snorkel air cleaner, though.

Let me know when the time comes, Joe.

Doug
